Department of Mechanical Engineering

About the Mechanical Engineering Department

The mission of the department is to produce quality and professional engineers for the industry and society. It has well qualified faculty members who have specializations in fields of Thermal Engineering, Production Engineering. Apart from teaching the faculty members are also actively involved in research and development activities. The B.Tech. Programme offered by the Department encompasses many courses such as Solid Mechanics, Production Technology, Thermal Engineering, Structural Analysis, and Industrial Engineering. This background is strengthened and integrated through application in a sequence of broad engineering design supported by well-equipped laboratories and workshops. The department regularly conducts seminars and workshops for the benefit of the students. Department has strong industrial links for providing summer internships at reputed organizations like SML, Swaraj Tractors, Sonalika etc. The department also offers M.Tech. Programme specializing in Production Engineering, since 2013.

Following well equipped Laboratories supplement the theory courses in B Tech and M Tech programmes.

Key features

Mechanical engineering deals with the design, development, installation, operation and maintenance of anything that has moving parts. Because of this, you’ll find relevant opportunities in a range of sectors, including: aerospace engineering.

Career Prospects

After the completion of this course student is able to analyze plan, design, execute and maintain Mechanical Engineering projects within a specified time, low cost and quality. The mechanical engineering future is very bright. It assures the highest-paying jobs for mechanical engineers. Energy conservation and others. In terms of career opportunities for mechanical engineers, these professionals can find opportunities both in Government and Private Organizations. The Bureau of Labor Statistics has projected Mechanical Engineers employment rate will go up by 9% by 2026.

Internship and placements

In B.Tech Mechanical Engineering we offer the six months industrial training for the students in which students learn about the various methods, techniques of industry working and get the practical exposure.

Mechanical Engineering students are working in various Industries like automotive industries, building construction, manufacturing industries, engineering Consultancies, automobile industries etc .
